Fujitsu Invests in Web Communities (11.9.2000)

Teamware launches Solution Center in Stockholm

"Fujitsu Group is globally focusing on the development of Internet-related business with the strategic direction: 'Everything on the Internet'. Sweden, being an advanced Internet user, is an ideal market for Teamware. This is why Fujitsu is investing substantially in our Community Solutions Business", says Rauno Toivonen, President and CEO of Teamware Group.

Teamware provides total solutions for interactive web communities through its various Solution Centers. The interactive lifestyle portals Pantertorget.com and Fjellbekk.com, based on the Teamware Pl@za platform, have been launched this year in Sweden. Following Teamware Pl@za's recent successes in Europe and the U.S., and with the acquisition announced today, Teamware and Fujitsu are aiming at a leading position in the Swedish web community market.

"With our new competencies in design and technology, we can offer a broad scale of local skills for tailoring solutions to the needs of our Swedish customers, and at the same utilize Teamware Group's and Fujitsu's strength and global position", says Erik Andersson, Director of the Solution Center in Sweden.

"We have fifteen years of experience in sophisticated and demanding IT environments, we are familiar with developing products for global markets, and we have cutting edge technology. We focus on specific market segments, where prospering web communities are essential. Teamware combines web know-how with an advanced 'Repeatable Solution' technology", explains Rauno Toivonen.

Teamware Pl@za, which runs on Java, offers a functional web application platform for organizations and companies. With the help of Pl@za, users can generate their own discussion groups and shared document folders as well as make new contacts and increase community interaction.
