Teamware Introduces New and Improved Version of Teamware Pl@za (19.4.2001)

Teamware Group, a Fujitsu subsidiary, announces today a brand new edition of Teamware Pl@za, a set of ready-made Internet services integrated into a Java based platform and used for building of interactive Web sites. Teamware Pl@za 3.4 has enhanced functionalities, such as more elaborated search, a tailored document management system and improved admin tools that make the use and maintenance of next generation Web sites easier than ever. The new edition will be available in May 2001.

Teamware Pl@za 3.4 includes a more elaborated search function with extended search capabilities. The new search service makes it possible to extend the search capability to cover for example discussion groups and help pages in addition to shared document folders and IBC's (Interactive Business Cards).
"Search capabilities have been enhanced according to customer requirements. The user can define a search to cover the whole system, but can also search just a selected area", says Katriina Maanoja, Marketing Manager for Teamware Pl@za.

With the launch of Teamware Pl@za 3.4, Teamware introduces a new document management system, which provides a low-cost and platform-independent document management solution especially built for Teamware Pl@za.
"The system, developed in-house and fully integrated with our technology platform, will replace the third party systems that we have used before", Maanoja explains.

The maintenance of Teamware Pl@za sites is now easier than ever, because of the enhancements made to the page management tools and the admin user interface. Also the group structure has been improved. The new group structuring provides a more flexible way of defining different types of groups in Teamware Pl@za.
"We wanted to improve Teamware Pl@za performance in large user groups with tens of thousands of registered users. Therefore, an improved user and group administration as well as a more complex group structure were needed", tells Maanoja.

Besides these changes, for example on-line meeting facilities have been improved as well as event management tools and notification services.
