Teamware Office 5.3 Edition 2 is Now Available (21.2.2000)

Teamware Group has today announced the availability of Teamware Office 5.3 Edition 2. Teamware Office is a total groupware solution for today's business professional. The major new features of Edition 2 include among others server-based virus scanning, WebService user interface improvements and enhanced security, as well as improved directory integration tools.

Teamware Office 5.3 has everything needed for collaboration and communication: e-mail, electronic document storage and retrieval, enterprise-wide discussion forums and information distribution, personal time management and shared resource bookings. It is available for NT and Solaris platforms; Teamware Office 5.3 for Linux will be announced in April. The Edition 2 supports server-based virus scanning. The web user interface has been enhanced for greater usability, integration and customization.

WebService - complete integration

With WebService, an Internet address (URL) can be assigned to any information in Calendar, Library, Forum or Mail. This information can then be accessed via standard Web browsers, powerful Teamware Office Windows clients, or standard e-mail clients. Information can be published and shared in the intranet or extranet with the built-in WebService module. There are ready-made templates for a quick and easy start, but company-specific HTML templates can be designed to suit a company’s image and requirements.

Among other significant enhancements, Teamware Office 5.3 Edition 2 includes a new X.400 MTA (messaging transfer agent). This is provided by NET-TEL, a British software company offering messaging products for PCs, workstations and servers.
