SyncShield Version 3.5 Released
Teamware’s technology partner Capricode introduces the new version - SyncShield 3.5 - of the advanced mobile device management solution. This version improves the first time client installation and enhances the administrative job control as well as reporting of the mobile devices in use.
What’s New in SyncShield 3.5
[Teamware theme 8]The new version comes with even easier client installation for the mobile devices. Only the binary client file download is required, the client will fetch the settings automatically during the installation from the same server. After the client module installation end-users don’t need to see the device management in action at all.
The earlier version of SyncShield introduced already scheduled tasks, for example backups every week. SyncShield version 3.5 introduces the possibility to chain individual jobs to larger batch jobs. The administrator can select previously created batch jobs to be run on a new device after activation. These batch jobs can be set scheduled as well.
The device management system creates periodic reports of mobile devices and applications. The administrator can view the system generated reports in CSV format. Note that the administrators can only see their own domain reports.
General SyncShield Features
SyncShield® is an advanced device management (DM) tool that makes it possible to deliver and maintain software and content centrally Over-The-Air. SyncShield uses the OMA DM synchronization protocol (SyncML) promoted by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). With SyncShield, the system administrator is able to add, execute, update, configure and remove programs remotely in advanced mobile devices.
SyncShield has two main components: The device management client installed to mobile device and the device management server accessed from a web GUI.
SyncShield provides a cost efficient solution that enables mobile operators, service providers and enterprises to centrally control application and content delivery to mobile devices. In addition, with SyncShield security features it is possible to lock a device or some of its functions.
SyncShield version 3.5 supports Symbian S60 2nd and 3rd edition phones, S80 , UIQ 2.1 and 3.0, and Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices.
